On Friday 18th September 2015, we held our second charity golf day at Cardiff Golf Club in Partnership with local property company CanDO Lettings and raised over £3,000 for local charity, Realise your Potential. The day, which was sponsored by Coles Funeral Directors was attended by over 70 local people and businesses and included a round of golf, raffle, dinner and charity auction.
Amongst the auction prizes was a rugby ball signed by recently injured Welsh rugby star, Rhys Webb along with a photograph of the scrum-half signing the ball with his leg in a cast.
Gareth Coles, Director of Coles Funeral Directors said: “We’re over the moon to have been able to raise over £3,000 for Realise your Potential – a local charity that supports people into work, education and training. Their work aligns itself very closely with our values as a business and we were thrilled to be able to offer this support to a local charity that gives back so much to the community.”
The money raised will be used to set up a training bursary for Realise your Potential members.
“The cost of training and courses is very often the main barrier that stops many individuals becoming work ready,” said Alessa Hill, Employment and Training Co-ordinator at Realise your Potential. “This financial assistance will give members the best chance of making significant life changes.”
The golf day also raised £675 towards ongoing fundraising to help support the refugee crisis. Proceeds from three of the auction prizes were donated in aid of the recent humanitarian crisis.
