Coles Funeral Directors and City Hospice unveiled the ‘Bigger Picture’ in Bute Park last weekend as part of its #CreateShareRemember campaign.
Encouraging the community to share their photos of treasured memories and look to the future following 18 months of hardship amid the ongoing pandemic, Coles Funeral Directors launched its #CreateShareRemember campaign at the end of 2020 in support of Cardiff-based charity, City Hospice.
Despite delays caused by the pandemic, the campaign saw countless members of the community get involved, submitting their pictures and making donations. Many of whom turned out to see the picture unveiled in all its glory in Bute Park on Saturday 21st in support of the launch.
Speaking of the launch, Gareth Coles, managing director of Coles Funeral Directors said: “We’re proud to offer our support to City Hospice, a charity which is close to our hearts. We’ve worked together for several years and we’ve seen first-hand the remarkable work that the team does. During the pandemic, we recognised that fundraising efforts had to be put on pause and this naturally put a strain on charities and the people they work to support.
“That’s why we decided to launch the #CreateShareRemember campaign, to help raise essential funds while also encouraging our community to reflect on their most positive memories. We’re very pleased with the result and want to say a big thank you to everyone who got involved and Nathan for producing this unique piece of art.”
The family-run funeral directors has raised over £4,000 for the charity, helping to fund community palliative care for patients living in Cardiff diagnosed with Cancer, Dementia, Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and other life-limiting illnesses.
The ‘Bigger Picture’ will be on display until October 2nd in Bute Park, opposite the Secret Garden Cafe.
