Cardiff-based Coles Funeral Directors is offering its support to the local community in the midst of the Coronavirus outbreak.
The family-run funeral directors launched its Bereavement Support Hub in Birchgrove in 2019 and will be utilising this resource in the wake of the Coronavirus crisis to provide assistance, extending its services over the coming weeks and months to help the local Cardiff community in this time of crisis.
Not only will this include over-the-phone, free counselling sessions with a qualified practitioner for those in self-isolation, but the team will also be reaching out however they can, getting creative with their services. From checking-in on individuals, picking up any groceries or simply having a conversation over the phone for those facing loneliness, Coles is keen to ensure that no member of the community feels left behind during this uncertain time.
Speaking of its offering, Gareth Coles director of Coles Funeral Directors said: “The community has always been at the heart of everything that we do and in a time of difficulty, we want them to know that we’re with them every step of the way, regardless of the challenge. We work closely with local charities, schools and individuals, and we know how important it is to keep the conversation flowing to help reduce the strain on mental health that could potentially come with self-isolation and social distancing.
“It’s a difficult, tumultuous time for everyone and we can see that this is already causing a lot of worry and anxiety. In light of this, we feel really passionate about pulling together to help make things a little easier, particularly for the most vulnerable in our society.”
As well as presenting this additional support, Coles will also be offering its advice or services through over-the-phone consultations to reduce stress and increase accessibility for those undergoing social distancing or self-isolation.
