You spoke and we listened. As many will know, we recently launched The Coles Hub and in order to ensure it becomes a space the whole community can benefit from – we hosted an open day to gather everyone’s views as well as getting feedback through a social media survey which you may have spotted.
The results are in and 30% of our community is particularly keen to take advantage of one to one counselling sessions in The Hub which we will be providing one day a week from this autumn (more details to follow). The other most popular request for the hub (over 30%) is helping children with grief and learning more about death. To make this happen we have already started working closely with local primary schools to set up sessions at The Hub, which will be tied in with the national curriculum, allowing school children to start discussing death at an early stage. We are also shaping plans for drop in sessions for those that want to learn more about coping with death, funerals, bereavement, and grief, as well as setting aside times when our kid’s corner and library of books in The Hub can be made use of throughout the week.Access to support groups (17%) and improving mental health and wellbeing (14%) were also some of the top requests of what the community would like to see at The Hub. To make this a reality we are also looking to host regular support and wellbeing groups and workshops at The Hub throughout the year.
In the coming weeks we’ll be publishing a calendar of events that will be held in this space, as well as providing more information about our partners that we will be working closely with to make your wishes a reality. So, please stay tuned to our social media for details!
